TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A data center campus could take root among the cotton fields of Marana.
Beale Infrastructure, which is already known for Project Blue, has submitted applications to rezone and build on two parcels of land totaling 600 acres.
The town passed a data center ordinance in anticipation of these developments.
The town’s development services is reviewing Beale’s application which is all part of the ordinance that will require multiple opportunities for public input.
“The town got in front of this when we started hearing rumblings of data centers looking in on the region so a couple years ago we started getting inquiries. So we went about and created our own ordinance, did a lot of research on that,” said Jason Angell, Director of Development Service for the Town of Ma
