British holidaymaker dies, another critical after hotel fall in Lanzarote View Image

A British tourist, aged 56, has tragically died after falling nearly 20ft when a railing 'gave way' at a hotel in the Canary Islands. Another holidaymaker, aged 54, is critically injured following the same incident, as reported by the Mirror.

The tragic event unfolded at 1.30am today (October 26), in the resort of Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. The older man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

Emergency services were alerted that two people had fallen from a significant height inside a hotel early this morning. Members of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), local police and Spanish Civil Guard were dispatched to the scene.
