Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson had surgery on the orbital fracture near an eye, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Richardson suffered the injury during Week 6 pregame warmups when a resistance band struck his eye. He has been placed on injured reserve but could return this season. He is required to miss at least two more weeks.

There is very little data available on quarterbacks recovering from orbital fractures. Various medical website say it takes 4-8 weeks to recover from a broken orbital and it can be longer if surgery is required. Two defensive players suffered the injury last season, one didn't miss a game, the other was out for two games.
