Police have tonight launched an urgent search for a missing seven year old boy.

Laylan Campbell was last seen this afternoon (Sunday October 26) in the Grangetown area of Middlesborough.

Police believe that he has left the Cleveland area with a family member, Cleaveland Police said in an update.

Officers are working with other police forces to locate the child as quickly as possible.

Laylan was wearing a brown jacket with the letter “R” on the back and black bottoms when he disappeared.

An appeal from Cleveland Police was issued on Facebook.

It read: "URGENT – Have you seen missing Laylan Campbell.

"Laylan was last seen this afternoon (Sunday 26th October) in the Birchington Avenue area of Grangetown. He is seven years old.
