PHILADELPHIA — Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered an awful injury in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
Skattebo, a bright spot in the Giants’ rough start to the season, suffered what appeared to be a gruesome ankle injury after trying to catch a pass in the second quarter.
Skattebo’s right ankle was twisted in an unnatural position, causing visceral reactions on the field from players on both teams.
Skattebo was quickly put on a medical cart and taken to the locker room. His right ankle was put in an air cast.
Skattebo, the star back out of Arizona State, had scored a touchdown earlier in the game. The fourth-round rookie had 398 rushing yards and six total touchdowns through six games.
