A 53-year-old Highland Township man was killed Sunday evening when the bicycle he was riding was struck by an SUV, officials said.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Todd Michael Luark.
Luark was on a bike headed south on South Milford Road near Rowe Road when he was hit by a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in the same direction, shortly before 7:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. An investigation determined the Jeep crossed over the solid white line at the edge of the roadway and struck Luark, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies responded to the scene and found Luark unconscious in the driveway of a home. Paramedics performed CPR but couldn’t revive Luark; he was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
