The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned center Robert Williams III to the Rip City Remix for return-to-court conditioning, the organization announced today.
This doesn’t mean Williams will be suiting up in games for the Blazers’ G League affiliate. Instead, he’ll be using the assignment to get extra practice time. The Remix start training camp today, while the Blazers play road games tonight and Wednesday before returning to Portland for a matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
Williams has missed all of Portland’s preseason and regular-season games so far with the designation of “return-to-court conditioning.” The initial cause of Williams’ absence stems from an arthroscopic procedure he underwent last March to address inflammation in his left knee.
