NEW YORK (WABC) -- The TCS New York City Marathon Opening Ceremony Presented by United Airlines kicked off race weekend with a celebration at the finish line in Central Park on Friday.

The annual festivities featured the Parade of Nations - a showcase of runners from all over the world.

Runners from nearly 140 countries participate in the marathon.

The event concluded with fireworks over the finish line.

This year's ceremony also featured the 2025 New York Road Runners Hall of Fame Inductees.

The 2025 TCS New York City Marathon takes place on Sunday, November 2. Coverage on Channel 7 and wherever you stream ABC 7 New York begins with pre-race coverage, Marathon Sunday, at 7:00 a.m. on November 2. Live coverage of Sunday's marathon begins at 8:00 a.m. only on Channel 7 and ESPN2.
