NAHMA — Rodney Michael LaCross, 71, of Nahma passed away October 24th at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay, following a short battle with cancer.

He was born August 15, 1954 to Raymond and Iva (June ) LaCross. He was raised in Alpena, Michigan until he enlisted in the United States Army in 1971 where he was stationed in Bayreuth, Germany. Rodney spent 15 years in the military in Germany where he made many friends. He learned to speak fluent German and had a German hunting license. He kept in contact for many years with some of his German friends. He was a tank commander, until he was injured with a piece of steel through his optic nerve in his eye. German doctors saved his eye. He loved being in the military and would have made a career of it.

Rod was the third of 8 children, 5 sisters
