LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
On the heels of Louisville’s third violence prevention summit, another gathering of peacemakers this week aims to keep the momentum going.
The 12th annual convening of Cities United in the metro connects more than a thousand national advocates with a shared vision of saving lives.
“At Cities United, we believe everybody has a role to play, different roles, but everybody should be doing something,” said Anthony Smith, executive director of Cities United.
Smith says their all-hands-on-deck approach to interrupting violence ranges from partnerships to policy, investments and public safety strategies.
Knowing the disproportionate impacts of violence on minorities, notably Black men and boys, the network tailors its efforts to help their transformation.
