WARREN – Things started out slow Andrew Corder’s freshman year.

A freshman on varsity one a team without any seniors, Corder’s Warren De La Salle side received some baptism under fire the first half of that season before turning around to make a deep run in the Division 2 state tournament.

The Plots ended up winning both district and regional championships before losing to fellow state powerhouse Mason in the state semifinals in a game that reached a shootout.

But there was one constant on De La Salle’s young roster was the stellar play of Corder. He ended up not only notching 16 goals and five assists as a freshman but earned All-State First Team honors.
