GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - HCA Florida North Florida Hospital has a new chief medical officer.

Officials announced on Tuesday that Dr. Alex Gumiroff is stepping into the role.

He will oversee operations at the main North Florida Hospital campus, and the standalone emergency rooms in the surrounding area.

Dr. Gumiroff is coming from HCA Florida Palms West Hospital in Palm Beach County.
