LIHUE, Hawaii (Island News) -- The Kauai Police Department (KPD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying human remains that were found along the shoreline of Aliomanu Beach in April.
KPD is investigating partial human remains discovered on April 9, 2025 at Aliomanu Beach. Additional time was required for forensic testing and DNA analysis due to how decomposed the remains were because of exposure to the ocean environment.
Test results determined that the remains are from a man. A DNA profile was also generated which can be used to compare with missing persons reports or family reference samples to help identify him.
