Srinagar, Oct 29: CM Omar Abdullah in the ongoing Assembly session announced that the government is reviewing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) scheme to enhance flexibility and transparency. He said each MLA can recommend developmental works worth up to ₹50 lakh, with new expenditure categories such as school vans, individual house connectivity, and mobility aids. Up to ₹50 lakh can also be used for relief and reconstruction after natural calamities. Abdullah added that MLAs are no longer required to spend 80% of their funds in a single financial year, ensuring better planning and oversight.
