A teenage cricketer in Australia was rushed to hospital after being struck on the head by a ball as he was warming up for a T20 match in Melbourne on Tuesday. The incident happened at the Walley Tew Reserve in Ferntree Gully, leaving everyone at the venue stunned.

The teenager was treated by the paramedics before being taken to Monash Medical Centre in a critical condition, according to 7News . He’s now on life support.

“Currently our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We’re committed to providing whatever support we need to for the clubs and the officials that were involved," Ringwood and District Cricket Association president Michael Finn told 7News .
