GREENVILLE ― Gray's Creek volleyball's historic 2025 season ended Tuesday night, Oct. 28, in the NCHSAA 6A East Regional championship after losing 3-0 at No. 1 J.H. Rose.
Despite the loss, the Bears (22-2, 10-0 Tri-County) put together a ground-breaking season as the first high school volleyball team in school and county history to make it to an NCHSAA Final Four, and according to head coach Amber Strickland, she "couldn't ask for more from them as a coach."
"I'm super proud of them," Strickland said. "I'm proud of them for being the first volleyball team in Cumberland County to make it this far, and obviously, the first team in school history. We had a historic season and I couldn't be more proud of them."
