DeSean Jackson was beginning his second season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 when he was among several players called into a meeting with coach Andy Reid.
They were informed that the Eagles were considering signing Michael Vick, the quarterback who’d starred for Atlanta for six seasons before having to sit out two years for violating the NFL’s personal conduct rules for his involvement in dog fighting.
