JACKSON — A Jackson man has been charged in connection with a July shooting that injured a man attempting to recover a vehicle, according to the Jackson Police Department.

Police said 22-year-old Linell Brown Jr. was taken into custody on Oct. 27 and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Investigators said the shooting happened July 31 in the area of TV Road and Gertrude Drive, where Brown allegedly shot a man who was trying to retrieve a vehicle.

Brown appeared in Jackson Municipal Court on Monday and was given a combined $250,000 secured bond — $200,000 for the aggravated assault charge and $50,000 for the firearm charge.
