President Donald Trump was presented with an ornate golden crown and South Korea’s highest national honor on Wednesday, just days after “No Kings” protests erupted across U.S. cities.

During a ceremony in the city of Gyeongju, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung awarded Trump the Grand Order of Mugunghwa, typically reserved for heads of state, citing his “work trying to achieve peace on the Korean peninsula.” Trump is the first American ever to receive the distinction.
