Women across India are steadily breaking barriers. Among them, Tenzin Yangki from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, has made history as the state’s first woman IPS officer, earning praise from business leader Anand Mahindra, the Chief Minister, and thousands online.
Yangki cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 with AIR 545. She recently completed Phase-I training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad, joining the ranks of the IPS—an inspiring milestone for a state where very few reach the country’s elite services.
ANAND MAHINDRA’S PRAISE
Anand Mahindra shared her story online, calling her: “An academician, a civil servant, and now an IPS officer.”
He added that she carries forward her parents’ legacy while creating her own path.
