Shaquille O’Neal has never been shy about calling himself one of the greatest centers in NBA history.

Still, the Lakers legend didn’t hesitate to acknowledge a modern star who, in his eyes, might have reached an even higher level.

“ We’re different players, but I’ll probably have to say Giannis. The game has evolved from when I played. That’s what you want. You want evolution in the game ,” O’Neal said when asked to compare himself with Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in their prime.

Antetokounmpo is off to a blistering start this season, looking every bit the dominant force O’Neal once was. Over his first three outings, he’s averaging 36.3 points and 14.0 rebounds, powering Milwaukee’s strong opening run.
