Halfway through the season (minus two quarters), the Eagles are 6-2 with a 2 1/2-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys and a three-game cushion over the Washington Commanders in the NFC East.
Only two teams in the NFL — Indianapolis at 7-1 and Green Bay at 5-1-1 — have a better record than them.
The Eagles didn’t get to 6-2 exactly how I expected (I had them losing at Kansas City and at Minnesota), but they got there nonetheless.
Now they have a bye week before playing consecutive games against the Packers on the road and the 5-2 Detroit Lions at home. Four of the Eagles’ final nine games will be against teams that currently have winning records and six of the nine will be against teams that made the playoffs last season.
But we’re not here to look ahead. We’re here to look back by hand
