Early risers will wake to light showers over much of the metro area Wednesday, but those who sleep in may see mostly sunny skies.

The National Weather Service expects high pressure to build back over the region during the day clearing out any lingering clouds.

Portland will see cloudy skies through the morning and some lingering rain showers. Skies then turn mostly sunny by the afternoon. The high will be near 59 degrees.

Clear skies overnight and cool temperatures could lead to fog in the valleys through early Thursday. Some areas could even see a bit of frost.
