Srinagar- Pandemonium broke out in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Wednesday after BJP MLA Shagun Parihar alleged that the government was neglecting some areas of Kishtwar because “nationalist Hindus” reside there.
The remarks, made during the Zero Hour, drew strong objections from the treasury benches, with Minister Javid Ahmad Dar terming them “communal” and demanding that they be expunged from the records.
NC MLA Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi said thousands of Muslims have given their lives for the nation and should not be insulted. Amid the din, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary stated that Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians in Jammu and Kashmir were as nationalist as Hindus.
