DAVISVILLE, W.Va. — A new Amazon operations facility in Wood County is expected to open this year and create dozens of jobs, a representative of the company said Monday.

Amazon Services LLC in December purchased property off Meadville Road in Davisville from the Polymer Alliance Zone for $2,961,834, according to a deed filed with the Wood County Clerk’s office.

An approximately 70,000- square-foot facility was recently built at the site. Wood County Economic Development posted on Facebook that Amazon was looking to hire people for “Amazon Flex” positions delivering packages in their own vehicles, at what the post described as a “last-mile” facility.
