CENTRAL PARK, New York (WABC) -- Final preparations are in full swing ahead of Sunday's TCS New York City Marathon and one of the most iconic features of the race was put in place.
The New York Road Runners organization held its annual ceremonial painting of the blue line in Central Park on Wednesday morning.
That line marks the end of the 26.2-mile course in Central Park that runs through the five boroughs.
This year more than 50,000 runners from roughly 160 countries will check a dream off their bucket list. Athletes of all ages will make their way along the course.
The youngest will be 18 and the oldest 91 years old.
"They represent all abilities, all genders and all paces and all running on the same course on the same day," NYRR Rob Simmelkjaer said.
