North Bay Mayor Peter Chirico says the city’s Chief Administrative Officer John Severino told him OHL hockey tickets and golf membership were a “legitimate” city council expense.
However, Severino told North Bay Integrity Commissioner Guy Giorno that isn’t true.

In fact, Severino told Giorno he was “uncomfortable” with the city paying for the hockey tickets and golf membership, however he signed off because Chirico already purchased them.
Hockey tickets and golf membership were among the $17,253 expenses paid by Chirico using the city’s corporate credit card.
Giorno found Code of Conduct breaches in relation to $5,557.77 of these expenses, but has not found breaches in relation to the remaining $11,695.24. The hockey tickets were identified to be worth $3,166.50.
