HOUSTON – Today, the Houston Texans announced DT Mario Edwards Jr. as the team's nominee for the 2025 Salute to Service Award. Each season, the award recognizes players, coaches, staff and alumni from around the NFL who make exceptional efforts to honor and support military and veteran communities.

Edwards, an 11-year NFL veteran, has direct ties to the military as his sister served in the Army. He was able to provide her with support throughout her service to the United States, and over the last two seasons Edwards has extended his support to local Houston veterans.
