Monroe County Community College Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success Scott Behrens approved a Turning Point USA chapter on campus.

The college's Student Government Association did not approve of the club with an eight to one vote at their meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 28. That decision was presented with the petition, constitution, faculty sponsor, and student officers of the prospective group to Behrens for consent and approval, in accordance with procedure.

According to an email released by MCCC late Tuesday, Behrens had a meeting with student government members and their advisors. During the discussion, the prospective club president affirmed that all members must "adhere to college policies and procedures."
