WIMBERLEY, Texas — One person was taken into custody Wednesday morning after a vehicle theft prompted a lockdown at a Wimberley polling center.

The Hays County Sheriff's Office said the Wimberley Community Center at 109 Oak Drive, which is serving as an early voting location, was placed on lockdown after the incident . A shelter-in-place order covering a 1-mile radius around Wimberley Square was lifted at 10 a.m., Lt. Clint Pulpan told KVUE.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded around 5 a.m. to the Woodcreek North subdivision for a report of a stolen vehicle. About 8:50 a.m., suspects were reportedly seen on foot near Wimberley Square, leading to one arrest.
