Morristown West will have its hands full when it welcomes defending 5A state champion Sevier County to Burke-Toney Stadium on Friday night.
After clinching a playoff spot in Friday night’s 44-30 win over Cocke County, the Trojans (3-6, 2-2) are looking to finish the season off on a high note with a third straight win. West has locked up a No. 4 seed in the playoffs, and it would take a Crockett loss to Cocke County and a win over Sevier to climb any higher.
The Smoky Bears (8-1, 4-0), are coming off back-to-back wins after seeing their 21-game win streak come to a close against Grace Christian.
Regardless of Friday’s result, Sevier has secured its third straight Region 1-5A title.
