The defending Division I state champion Slidell volleyball team has an undeniable family feel.
The Tigers are on a mission to defend their state title, and that journey took a huge step forward on Oct. 28 as Slidell earned a 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 sweep of District 6-I rival Fontainebleau to lock up an undefeated district crown.
"The kids came out focused and ready to play,” Slidell coach Danny Tullis said. “Winning the outright district title against a great Fontainebleau team is very special for this group. It's an exciting time for our 12 seniors, and I'm happy they were able to clinch the district crown.”
You read that right, the Tigers (29-5, 6-0) have 12 seniors, and none have loomed larger on the court than senior middle Ava Barduca (20 kills, 3 aces).
