CADIZ, Ohio — Emergency crews are responding to a major gas leak at the Meadows of Cadiz nursing home in Harrison County.
All residents are being evacuated from the facility. As of now, officials say all patients appear to be safe. The evacuation is a precaution to protect residents from the gas leak and the cold weather.
Residents are being relocated to the Stevenson Center, the former school building in Harrison County, to stay warm and secure.
More than eight ambulances are on scene. Crews are using a combination of school buses, nursing home buses, and EMS vehicles to move residents and staff.
First responders remain at the scene, and the situation is still active.
