Just one year after winning the WPIAL Class 2A title, South Park missed out on the playoffs entirely. Beaver Falls, which went winless last season, is in the Class 2A postseason as a No. 12 seed.

The WPIAL playoffs are finally upon us, and the storylines are endless. In Class 3A, Avonworth (10-0) has somehow looked even more dominant than last year, when it won a WPIAL title and rolled all the way to a state runner-up finish.

In Class 2A, Seton LaSalle drew headlines over the summer, as its starting quarterback and two top receivers transferred to other schools. Still the Rebels shook off a season-opening loss and cruised the rest of the way to the classification’s top seed.
