Scoring goals hasn’t been the issue for the Mitchell Fun 3 (U10) ringette teams, as all four clubs have opened their new season with a solid burst of offence.
The McLean team scored 15 goals in a pair of league games over the Oct. 25-26 weekend, battling visiting Kitchener to a 6-6 deadlock at home before travelling to Waterloo the next day and coming home with a 9-5 triumph.
The hometown Stingers jumped out to a 4-1 halftime lead against Kitchener, but the Wildcats outscored their hosts 5-2 in the second half to lead to the 6-6 draw. Amellia Vallance and Zoey McLean each had three-goal hat tricks for the Stingers.
McLean had another three-goal effort in Waterloo and added two assists while Makayla McFarlane and Vallance both had two-goal games to pace the victory. Mitchell built a 3-0
