Millcreek Township celebrated National First Responder Day by swearing in seven new firefighters and promoting its first-ever three captains on Tuesday night
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the Millcreek Fire Department, which was formed at the end of 2022. The newly sworn-in firefighters and captains underwent a rigorous selection process, including physical agility tests and psychological evaluations.
"They are going to do a swearing in, which is an oath of office, meaning they are going to uphold the core values and integrity of this position and what it means to be a firefighter," said Michael Cliff, Millcreek Township Fire Chief.
Dillon Winger, one of the newly sworn-in firefighters, expressed his excitement about transitioning from volunteer work to a full-time car
