Nigel Farage was repeatedly called out by fellow MPs while he was speaking in the Commons today and trying to champion withdrawal from the ECHR.
The Reform UK l eader was speaking before MPs voted down his 10-minute rule bill which would take the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights.
He argued that the ECHR is “unfinished business” and that “Brexit cannot be completed while we’re subject to a foreign court”.
While most of the Labour and Conservative benches were empty for his speech, the Liberal Democrats and other opposition MPs from smaller parties turned up – mainly to heckle Farage, it seems.
When he started talking about Brexit, a few MPs pointed out how Farage had “promised to leave” the UK back in 2017 if the EU withdrawal was a disaster.
