Sharpening his attack on the Modi government over the impending Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday said the right to vote forms the basis of democracy and the DMK government would protect it by defeating the attempts to snatch that away disenfranchise the electorate.
“Everyone is aware of what has happened in Bihar in the guise of SIR, where lakhs of voters were removed from the electoral rolls. The BJP is trying to replicate the same in Tamil Nadu as well.
