After opting against naming a starting quarterback at the beginning of the week, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze still hasn’t announced who will be Auburn’s starting signal caller against Kentucky on Saturday.
Jackson Arnold has started all eight games for the Tigers this season, but was replaced by Ashton Daniels right before halftime against Arkansas last week. Auburn went on to win the game 33-24 with Daniels behind center.
Freeze said on Monday that there would be an open competition, and through two practices, he says the battle is close.
“They both are really great guys that prepare well, and they’re getting us in the right things, are setting the protections the right way. They’re both making accurate throws for the most part,” Freeze said during Wednesday’s SEC coaches telecon
