A Michigan nanny is accused of fatally stabbing the grandfather of the toddler she was babysitting.

Police in Royal Oak, Mich., say that David Ong, 83, was asked to check on his granddaughter and her nanny, Samantha Booth, 35, on Oct. 24 after his daughter, who was out of town, was unable to reach the caretaker.

Ong went to the home, but did not update his daughter, who subsequently called her brother-in-law and asked him to check on both Ong and the child, according to police.
