Powered by BallotTrax and overseen by the secretary of state’s office, the system provides updates on when ballots are mailed, received, and counted.

Voters can sign up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov using their name, date of birth, and California residential ZIP code, and choose to receive notifications via email, text, or voice call. The tool does not change voter registration or mailing addresses.

The system is available in every county, and voters can manage notification preferences, including limiting hours or unsubscribing.
