California voters can track their vote-by-mail ballots at every step through the Where’s My Ballot? tool.

Powered by BallotTrax and overseen by the secretary of state’s office, the system provides updates on when ballots are mailed, received, and counted.

Voters can sign up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov using their name, date of birth, and California residential ZIP code, and choose to receive notifications via email, text, or voice call. The tool does not change voter registration or mailing addresses.

The system is available in every county, and voters can manage notification preferences, including limiting hours or unsubscribing.

For troubleshooting, users should confirm registration information matches exactly, and overseas voters should enter their California residential ZIP code.
