WILL COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged Wednesday, after firing shots at a Will County sheriff's deputy, the sheriff's office said.
The deputy spotted a black Infiniti sedan without a license plate driving over the speed limit about 12:35 a.m. near McDonough Street and Ottawa Street in Joliet Township, the sheriff's office said.

The deputy tried to pull the car over, but it continued speeding away, police said.
Near the intersection of Chicago Street and Doris Avenue, the driver got out of the car armed with an AR-15-style pistol and shot at at the deputy, police said.
The deputy was not injured.
The suspect then ran into a field.
