NILES A Mercer man who was accused of possessing a homemade explosive device in Niles has been no-billed on the charge connected to the alleged explosive, but was indicted on another felony charge.
Originally, 46-year-old John Podleyon was charged with carrying concealed weapons, as well as a felony charge of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance.
While the dangerous ordnance charge and a misdemeanor weapons charge were dropped, Podleyon was still indicted on the felony charge of carrying concealed weapons.
Podleyon was charged after a traffic stop in Niles in September, where police found what they described as "a carload of guns and bombs."
It is unclear what led to the ordnance charge being dropped.
