DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A Danville church is teaming up with Walmart to help families in need as SNAP benefits are set to be cut in November.
The Mosaic City Church is hosting "Blessing on the Blacktop." Free groceries will be handed out to families who need them on a first come, first served basis.
The event will have enough bags to support 75 families, with $50 worth of groceries per family.
It will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 1 in the Walmart parking lot at 4101 N. Vermilion St Ste A, Danville, IL.
To qualify for groceries, people must be 18 or older, have a valid ID and have proof of address.
