The Gauteng Department of Social Development has issued a reminder to all non-profit organisations (NPOs) to submit their funding applications for the 2026/27 financial year before the final deadline of Thursday, 30 October 2025 . The extension, announced by MEC for Social Development, Faith Mazibuko , offers NPOs an additional two weeks beyond the original closing date of 15 October to finalise and submit their proposals.

Extension Aimed at Ensuring Fair Participation

According to MEC Mazibuko, the decision to extend the application period was driven by a desire to provide all NPOs — particularly smaller and community-based organisations — with sufficient time to complete the necessary documentation and meet compliance requirements.
