Kellen Moore has repeatedly said that Taysom Hill’s role would expand the further the season progressed, which made sense considering the New Orleans Saints’ do-it-all weapon was working his way back from a serious knee injury.
Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a notable departure from that plan.
Hill played just five offensive snaps against the Buccaneers — his lowest total in a game since 2019. Three of those five reps resulted in touches as the 35-year-old had two carries for six yards and a six-yard catch.
Hill’s lack of usage wasn’t “by design,” Moore said.
