Nearly 5 million Californians have already voted in the special election to determine whether the state should redraw its congressional maps.

The California Secretary of State released new statistics on Monday, Oct. 27, revealing how many voters in each county have already turned in their ballots.

Across the state, around 4.8 million people have voted. That's around 22% of the voters who have been issued ballots prior to the election.
