Lakers' G League team acquires former Gonzaga star in trade

The South Bay Lakers officially announced they have traded for Gonzaga star and former Brooklyn Net, Drew Timme, from the Long Island Nets in exchange for Nate Williams.

Timme has been one of basketball’s most intriguing players to follow over the past few years, and he’ll now get another chance to prove himself with the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League affiliate. The 25-year-old spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets, splitting time between the G League and the main roster. In nine appearances with Brooklyn, Timme averaged 12.1 points and 7.2 rebounds, including three double-doubles.

A standout at Gonzaga University, Timme carved out a decorated four-year college career. He averaged 17.2 points and 6.
