LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (KPTV) - A 27-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday for the death of his 15-month-old daughter, according to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office.
Emerson Cromwell was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years for causing the death of his daughter. He was convicted by a jury on Sept. 26 of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and first-degree manslaughter.
On Aug. 9, 2022, Cromwell called 911 to report his child was unconscious and not responsive. The child was taken to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where it was determined she was suffering from a brain bleed.
The child was life-flighted to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland where she died the next morning.
