CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A family is mourning after their loved one was killed in what police describe as a murder-suicide Tuesday in Hartwell.

Cincinnati police say 32-year-old Eric Dawson shot and killed 24-year-old Jahmeila Warren before killing himself at a home on Leeds Lane near Compton Road around 12 p.m.

First responders tried saving their lives, but police said both Dawson and Warren died.

The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Family remembers victim

Warren’s cousin, Kayla, said she lived with Warren’s family on multiple occasions growing up.

“My aunt raised us together, so it really felt more like we were sisters more than cousins at the time,” Kayla said in a statement to FOX19 NOW.
